Skinny Beach (sock)

The Beach Bunny loves the beach.  It calms his soul.  He's taken that love of the beach and used it to inspire his colorways.  Starting with incredible beaches in his home state of Florida, he's themed a collection of coordinating colors.

This is his awesome Targhee wool-based "Beach" line in a thinner weight, a "Skinny" weight.  Also known as Sock weight.

At first glance, pillowy Targhee looks like a thicker yarn, but don't be fooled.  The fiber of this unique American breed has a lot of loft and crimp.  It shows off stitch definition that's perfect for cables and designs that pop.  It's also a wonderful gateway yarn for those who want to learn to work with thinner yarns.  Once it's wet and blocked (and it can be blocked very aggressively), it can become very thin.  Be sure to wet block your swatch before you start on a gauge-important project.

What is Targhee?  Targhee is an American breed of sheep that was created in 1926 from Rambouillet, Corriedale, and Lincoln breeds.  It's soft like Merino and can be worn close to the skin.  It has great crimp, so it's a bouncy yarn.  It holds stitch definition so it's perfect for cables and raised stitches.
