Our awesome Targhee wool-based "Beach" line in a thinner weight, a "Skinny" weight. Also known as Fingering/Sock weight.
At first glance, Targhee looks like a thicker yarn, but don't be fooled. The fiber of this unique American breed has a lot of loft and crimp. However, once it's wet and blocked (and it can be blocked very aggressively), it can become very thin. Be sure to wet block your swatch before you start on a gauge-important project.
What is Targhee? Targhee is an American breed of sheep that was created in 1926 from Rambouillet, Corriedale, and Lincoln breeds. It's soft like Merino and can be worn close to the skin. It has great crimp, so it's a bouncy yarn. It holds stitch definition so it's perfect for cables and raised stitches.
